Trailer mechanic

What will you do:

As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various types of trailers. Your work will cover a wide range of systems, including air, lighting, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. From performing brake overhauls and bodywork to troubleshooting complex faults and preparing trailers for MOT inspections, you will ensure every vehicle is safe and roadworthy. Working within a professional team, you will also construct parts through welding and perform rigorous quality checks on all completed work.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on trailers, including bodywork and straightening
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Execute brake overhauls and work on air systems and trailer lighting
• Conduct MOT-related repairs and ensure vehicles meet inspection standards
• Construct parts through welding and maintain workshop machinery
• Perform final quality checks to ensure all repairs meet safety and company standards

What competencies do you need?

• Experience: Minimum 2.5 years of experience as a trailer, heavy machine, or car mechanic
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and basic welding
• Language: Medium level of English or better
• Flexibility: Ability to work in shifts as required
• Nice to have: C-E driver’s license (helpful for moving trailers)
