Which welding methods are used in the Netherlands?

The most commonly used welding methods in the Netherlands are electrode welding, TIG and MIG/MAG.

Electrode welding

Electrode welding, electric welding or arc welding is a method in which the electrode is used as a welding consumable. It fuses from the torch to the material to be welded. This technique is used for all types of steel.

TIG welding

TIG welding is considered the most difficult technique because it takes both hands to be able to weld. The TIG welding technique is very precise and time-consuming, but it is considered the most beautiful technique.

MIG/MAG welding

The difference between MIG welding and MAG welding is only the type of shielding gas used: inert or active. The welding process is the same and that is why it is seen as a single technique. It is the fastest technique which makes it the most popular. MIG/MAG welding can also be automated with the help of a welding robot.

If you read the welder job descriptions on our vacancy page you will see that we have jobs for all kind of welders such as pipe welders, plater welders or fitter welders.

The Netherlands has one of the richest and most stable economies in Europe. With a surface of 41.543 km², the Netherlands is a small country but full of new job opportunities. 2. Labour standards in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is in the top 10 of the countries that have a good balance between private and professional life. About 75% of women and 26% of men only work 36 hours a week. This way they have more free time to spend with their family and friends.

The Dutch also like to have a ´borrel´ with their colleagues, which means having a few drinks together on Friday after work. Nice, right?

3. High life expectancy

Life expectancy in the Netherlands is one of the highest in the world. This is due to a healthy environment with low pollution and good quality water, as well as their comfortable way of life – a good income and many employment and education possibilities. Because of this, the Dutch have more opportunities to save up and build a nice life for themselves. All this helps them maintain their 7th position in the top of the happiest countries in the world.

4. The Dutch people

Most people living in the Netherlands speak fluent English. You don’t have to worry if you don’t speak Dutch. The Dutch have a very rich cultural diversity and are accustomed to speaking English. 6. Cycling

Cycling is the preferred mode of transport in the Netherlands and also a way of living. Everyone bikes. Most Dutch people own more than one bicycle. There are bike paths all over the country where you can ride your bike safely. So there is no reason not to bike, at least sometimes.
