Senior inspector

We are looking for a Senior Inspector to carry out inspection activities on an independent basis and to guide and train Inspectors 1, 2, and 3. This role involves inspecting all types of storage units and liquid cargo, including products of plant or animal origin.

Main tasks:

• Perform inspection work independently on behalf of the company for clients.
• Inspect storage units for liquid cargoes.
• Determine cargo quantity through measuring, temperature checks, and calculations.
• Take samples from storage units.
• Complete required forms and issue certificates.
• Handle complex inspection assignments (e.g., blend ships, multiple cargoes, cleanliness determinations).
• Guide and train new employees (Inspectors 1, 2, and 3).
• Assess work for safety.
• Perform simple analytical tests.
• Communicate with operational personnel on board and ashore.
• Process information through reporting systems (e.g., Sail 4 and Sail Lite).
• Maintain various databases (e.g., VEF, SafeSite, etc.).

Work environment:

• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Works closely with colleagues and has functional supervision over Inspectors 1, 2, and 3.

Requirements

Must-haves:

• At least three years of experience as Inspector 3.
• Basic Safety Diploma (VCA I).
• English proficiency B2.
• Diploma Liquid Cargo Surveyor (STC).
• Experience with inspection activities in liquid cargo (minimum five years).
• Good physical condition.
• Valid Category B driver’s license.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, at sea, and under less comfortable conditions.

Nice-to-have:

• Technical vocational education (preferred).

Other Information:

• Work requires following all safety measures when handling hazardous substances.
